Hello and thanks for coming by. I am about to define more terms that should matter as you strive to win on money poker sites. I must admit that I am having fun going in order according to the alphabet. If nothing else it prevents me from pulling my hair out as I try to decide which terms to choose since there are so many.
The first term I will define is ICM, which stands for Independent Chip Model. If you play sit & gos on a Full Tilt Poker download, it is mandatory that you know ICM. When there are less than 10 players remaining in a tourney, ICM gives your chips a cash value and helps you make optimal decisions.
The letter J does not have a lot of variety when it comes to poker terms, so we will just go over “jam”. If you have some free poker training and the instructor says he likes a jam, he is saying that he likes going all-in. You can use it in place of “shove” or “push”.
The next word I will mention is “kill”. If you decide not to download Roulette in favor of poker at the local brick-and-mortar, there is often a kill game going on. If someone wins two consecutive hands, they will be required to put in a special blind preflop. A half kill requires just 1.5 times the big blind while a full kill is 2 times the big blind. People that do not like the tough games on poker flash sites might enjoy kill tables since they sometimes slow aggressive players down a bit.
When someone raises or calls “light”, they are doing it with a hand that is usually second best. Pretend that you are on Tiger Gaming and you have 86 in the small blind. A player with a high steal percentage raises on the button, and you decide to reraise since you figure he is usually raising a wide range here. He is likely raising light in late position, and you are reraising light in return. You should encounter these types of hands often when playing online.
Well that was my last term for this entry. In a few weeks I will keep going with the alphabet, starting off with the letter M. To keep yourself busy, be sure to play lots of poker.
